Ellis Promoted to Executive Vice President of Lasco
Lasco is pleased to announce the promotion of Lois Ellis from Senior Vice President of Business Development to Executive Vice President effective April 1st.
Since joining Lasco last October, Ms. Ellis has been learning the organization, building business relationships, cultivating new business development opportunities and understanding Lasco’s
customers’ needs. As Executive Vice President Ms. Ellis will take on more managerial responsibilities, continue building client relationships, assume increased responsibility for community relations and provide oversight for financial and human resources. Ms. Ellis is on track to transition fully into the President/CEO role on January 1, 2017, when current President/CEO Mr. Dennis VanLandschoot will retire.

Prior to joining Lasco, Ms. Ellis held the position of Business Development Manager for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation covering the Upper Peninsula on behalf of the statewide organization. Her main role was providing resources and information to assist private sector companies across the U.P. with their opportunities, challenges and expansion projects.
She also previously served as the Vice President of Economic Development for the Lake Superior Community Partnership in Marquette County where she provided business consultation services, planned and implemented economic development strategies, managed staff, budgets and facilities and was the staff lead for the Marquette County Economic Development Corporation. Ms. Ellis was responsible for all aspects of maintaining a $1M revolving loan fund that held federal, state and local monies for the Marquette County Economic Development Corporation. Ms. Ellis started her professional career with MFC First National Bank in Marquette in consumer lending.
Ms. Ellis is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), earning the designation from the International Economic Development Council in 2010 after completing courses and practical experience in the areas of real estate development, finance, business retention and growth strategies, marketing, ethics and organizational management. Additionally, Ms. Ellis earned the Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) designation from the National Development Council in 2011 after completing coursework in financial statements, credit analysis, negotiations and deal structuring. She is also a graduate of the Lake Superior Leadership Academy.
Ms. Ellis currently serves as a board member for the Lakes States Bankers Association, is a Marquette County Ambassador and a member of the Economic Club of Marquette County.
